Job Summary:
The IT Security Specialist is responsible for protecting the organization’s digital systems and data from cyber threats. This role designs, implements, and monitors security protocols, and ensures compliance with cybersecurity standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage network, system, and data security across all platforms.
- Identify vulnerabilities through risk assessments and penetration testing.
- Respond to and investigate security breaches, incidents, or anomalies.
- Implement firewalls, encryption, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and antivirus solutions.
- Develop and enforce IT security policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Ensure compliance with security frameworks
- Train staff on cybersecurity awareness and best practices.
- Manage identity and access controls across company systems.
- Conduct regular audits and prepare reports for management and regulatory bodies.
- Collaborate with IT and legal teams on incident response and data protection strategies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience in IT security or network administration.
- Strong understanding of security tools (e.g., encryption, authentication, and secure coding practices).
- Familiarity with compliance standards.
- Excellent problem-solving, and communication skills.
